Women's Ministry at Covenant Life Presbyterian Church

Women's Ministry

“Soon afterward He (Jesus) went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God.

And the twelve were with Him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means.”

Luke describes the key support that women gave to Jesus’ public ministry. CLPC values the great contribution that Holy Spirit-filled women have made to the Church, down through the centuries. CLPC desires to see that every woman connected to its Worship, Work, and Witness become filled with the Holy Spirit, while they provide for the ongoing work of extending God’s Transforming Presence.

Titus 2:3-5 says, “Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”

In full accord with this text, CLPC’s Women’s Ministry is intentionally committed to the following:

a.

Encourage every woman to long to worship the Lord, together;

b.

Encourage every woman to know and live the Word of God, together;

» we host a formal Bible Study during the Fall, and the Spring periods at lunch times

» we are currently going through a series on the book of Jonah

c.

Encourage every woman to pray bold and dependent prayers, together;

d.

Challenge women to seek to change the Bahamas, together – one community at a time.

» we volunteer with Girls’ Brigades

» we read to the students at CW Sawyer, and Yellow Elder Primary schools
